SEIL LIEN ART

Seil Lien is currently working on a body of work combining both her painting and music which is scheduled to be exhibited and released in 2024.

The visual work emerges from emptiness as if it was always there, waiting in the skin of the canvas, arriving unapologetically as if you are the one who is late!
When I started making improvised music I began applying the same process to my artwork, trying not to think too much with the focus to channelling pure expression. It’s a really challenging way to approach self-expression, over the years I’ve focused my practice on creating a state of internal silence as to extract what’s already inside in the most honest way I can. I find the only way I can do it is to really empty myself of thought and intention.
